Last night I traveled with a friend to a little known warehouse on a back road in Tampa, over near the airport. It is the home of
Cigar City Brewing - a new venture by tbt* Beer Correspondent Joey Redner. I went for the stickering party and beer tasting - it turned out to just be a tasting. All of what I consider Tampa's beer people were there. We tried all of Cigar City's pilot batches, which I must say were all amazing. It will be some time till this beer is shipped outside of FL, and I'm glad we'll have it to ourselves here for a bit. Joey and his brewer Wayne are truly making some delish beers. The night was fun, got to take a virtual tour of the brewery, and talk beer geek to a bunch of new friends. After Cigar City, it was off to Oldsmar Tap House for a finishing beer before home. Had a great conversation with Tony and he offered to hook me up with some beer orders as well as try to get me "something special" when I tour Brooklyn Brewery next week. I left last night after a beer filled evening and my friend who was with me turned to me and said, "life is good." I fully agree.
