This weekend I'll be visiting a friend in Denver, and oh yeah - we're going to the Great American Beer Festival too. Sure, I'll be in Denver, one of my favorite cities, doing some site seeing, hiking, and bar hopping; but the GABF is the real reason for the trip. I'll be seeking out a few specific brewers and beers, and bringing my resume and bending on one knee hoping to make some contacts as well. In recent weeks I have not been posting, as work is totally kicking my arse and when I get home I have no energy for anything other than turning on the TV or walking the dog and having a beer. I just haven't had the energy to write. But know this readers, I'm still working on this crazy idea of mine.
After my conversation with Left Hand Brewing, I realized that what I need to do, outside of all the other planning aspects of starting a business is again, to look at my financials. Gulp, in the current market that is kinda scary. I don't have the 401K savings I did two weeks ago to maybe dip into, so I needed to sit down and think how can I set myself up to take a pay cut and still survive. I recently rid myself of all debt. Minus car and house that is. So, if I could make enough to pay bills, and eat that's all I need. I ran the budget on that and know what I'd need to survive. I'm going to GABF for fun, to hang with friends and drinks some good beers. My alternative motive is to make some solid connections and maybe find a job. We'll see what transpires.
