So, this post has been a long time coming. For those who know me outside the Internet you know the news: I'm moving back home to Philadelphia. The reasons are as varied as the style of hops out there, and just as diverse. To start I've been wanting to get into a position in my "real" job for future advancement in case the brewery thing never works itself out. I work for one of the best organizations around and have always said I'd only leave for the beer world. Since the beer world is a little ways off realistically, it was time to formulate a change. Was it fate that the job I fell into was in Philadelphia? Partly. I am not complaining about going home. It'll be nice to back with family and long-lost friends. I will miss many things about Florida, but long-term I do think this is best for me personally and professionally.
I want to state now, this is not the end of Mellody Brewing. This is a detour along the road at worst. At best, it is a new and exciting path that might open doors for me. I've already posted to volunteer at breweries in the area on www.probrewer.com. I've written four local favorites personally as well. I'm not giving up, not by any means. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing here. I'm also going to get more involved in the local beer community in Philadelphia.
Posts here have been sparse lately but while I can't promise daily postings in the next few weeks as I move and start my new job - I will promise to keep this going. To keep rambling and posting and reviewing. I'll write more for sure once settled and will work to keep the What's Pouring section updated as well.
Keep checking in and we'll see where we go from here.
